The film explores how climate change became inexorably linked to United States national security in the 21st century. Experts in defense and security warn how the terrifying consequences of climate change exacerbate global instability and how climate change will become the major force shaping the global future.
Scott's filmmaking does a smooth job of linking A to B to Z, with slick, studiously understated montage and an effective music score, although some of the arguments made seem a bit of a stretch, as if climate change is being shoehorned into things artificially.
