User Profiles
We store all the data shown on a user's account settings page, which includes demographic data, viewing preferences, films, and user-uploaded images.
Comments and Ratings
When users leave comments and ratings on the site, we collect the data shown in the comment form, the user's id number, the time the comment was made, as well as the IP address of the device used to leave the comment, in order to aggregate location activity.
Media
If a user uploads images to the website, we recommend choosing images without embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Contact forms
Contact-form data is not stored in our database, but translated directly into an email and sent to our administrators.
Cookies
When a user logs in, we set up several cookies to save login information, in order to enable access to the user's account and watchlists, as well as the ability to comment on and rate films. Login cookies last one year; however if a user logs out, the login cookies will be removed immediately. See also Analytics.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to montor website traffic and activity. The analytics software sets up its own cookie as soon as someone opens our website.
Who we share user data with
No one. We do anonymously aggregate user activity in order to share with film-promotion and film-distribution entities. We may also share those metrics with streaming (VOD) platforms.
How long we retain user data
For users who register on our website, we store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their user ID). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
If a user rates or comments on a film, the comment/rating and its metadata are retained indefinitely.
What rights users have over their data
Users who have an account on this site, or have left comments, can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold, including any data they have provided to us. They can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about them. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send user data
Nowhere.
Your contact information
The only potentially sensitive data we store is a user's login information (username and password) if that user has created an account. We also store a user's email address if that user subscribes to our newsletter.
