Eroica

Two stories. In one, a shrewd drunkard who tries to avoid underground training for the Warsaw uprising ultimately becomes a hero. The second story details a hopeless attempt at escape from a prison camp by a man who can no longer stand the confinement. His attempt to escape boosts the morale of his fellow prisoners.
