Kikuko lives on a boat with her happy-go-lucky mother, Nikuko. Though the shy preteen is exasperated by her mom's upbeat nature and their living situation, the duo share a tender relationship. However, their peaceful life is suddenly disrupted when a secret from the past comes to light.
