Kwok, a bar owner and former cop, and his step-brother endeavor to protect a drunken woman after she gets into a car accident -- not knowing she's in possession of a briefcase full of stolen cash. They soon find themselves targeted by her former lover and a group of gangsters determined to reclaim the money.
The car chases and other stunt work are excellent, although there could have been more action, and the downtime scenes of the characters plotting their next move or ruminating on money’s role in moral corruption are fine. But the bottom line is there’s nothing super original here.
