An epic love triangle set in rural Quebec in the late 19th century, against the backdrop of the colonial struggle for power and territory. Donalda, an intelligent young woman, is in love with Alexis, a logger and brawling adventurer. But Seraphin, the mayor’s greedy son, is also in love with Donalda, and will stop at nothing to get his way.
