Seven-year-old Maria and her obsessive-compulsive mother spend their days sorting through and collecting trash until their world falls apart and Maria is sent into foster care. Ten years later, an older stranger named Michael enters her foster home, bringing up past trauma and memories connected to Maria’s mother.
