Jealous of the affection her brother receives from her mother Rose, Lily’s anxieties manifest in her mind as Hanahaki disease, an illness in which flowers grow in one’s lungs when experiencing unrequited love, and thus forces herself, with the help of her mum, to learn how to navigate their turbulent relationship through gifting each other their namesake flowers.
