Thirty years after the character was last seen in Chahine's "Alexandria...Why?," Egyptian filmmaker Yehia is successful but distant from his wife and children. When his heart becomes blocked, he must undergo surgery. During surgery, Yehia sees his entire life, from childhood on, revealing dark secrets and a difficult past.
