Muthu works as a charioteer for a zamindar when the zamindar becomes enamored with a woman he sees on stage. When she is harassed by village hooligans, Muthu is instructed to come to her rescue, and subsequently falls in love with her. Muthu’s unspoken past becomes a factor as he tries to keep both his love and his job.
