Drawing inspiration from his personal encounter with an Italian refugee child named Giovanna during World War II, Markus Imhoof documents how refugees and migrants are treated today. On the Mediterranean Sea, in Lebanon, in Italy, in Germany, and in Switzerland, countless migrants risk their lives in search of a better future.
