ephen Spender had spent the Thirties, as Mr. Buckley puts it, "dancing along the precipice, attempting at once literary integrity and Communist fellow traveling." He recovered from that infatuation, and went on to become the first editor of the anti-Communist "Encounter." No fireworks on this show, but illuminating discussion of the connections between art and politics.
We hate to say it, but we can't find anywhere to view this film.
