This program culled from 1960s-era television appearances features German virtuoso pianist Wilhelm Kempff performing well-known Beethoven selections such as Piano Sonata no. 14 in C-sharp minor and Piano Sonata no. 27 in E minor. Kempff's uniquely restrained but potent style also shines through in pieces by Robert Schumann, including Davidsbündlertänze, op. 6, Papillons, op. 2, and Arabeske in C major.
We hate to say it, but we can't find anywhere to view this film.
