In 1980s Spain, television and film star Bárbara Rey and circus personality Ángel Cristo fall for each other, soon turning their marriage into a profitable business. Though their relationship makes waves in the public eye, behind the scenes they grapple with problems of drug abuse, debt, infidelity, violence, and their own pasts.
