In a distant star system, the crew of the Galactica, survivors of a Cylon attack of military vessels, make their way to the fabled planet earth. As the war rages on between the Cylons and the humans in the 12 colonies, the crew of the Galactica find earth, though it is in a much different than they expected.
Science fiction often feels like a way to talk about things in life or society in a world that is far enough away to be easier. This show is no exception. Having repackaged discrimination and separation in the context of a war between robot-like creatures and humans, this series manages to be both entertaining and thought-provoking without feeling like its beating you over the head with its messaging.
