This series is one of those unique cases where it only gets better each season. All of the characters are so loveable, and, in particular, the main four experience such beautiful growth. It is as hilarious as it is heartfelt and will bring a smile to your face.

The Daily Beast by Kevin Fallon

The striking thing about Schitt’s Creek is in how writing this quick and smart and performances as finely calibrated as these exist on a show without cynicism, crudeness, glibness, or the kind of tortured darkness that has come to define what we consider “great” comedy. It’s masterful comedy that exists in a happy world.

Paste Magazine by Allison Shoemaker

Dan Levy’s series remains as funny—sometimes acidly, sometimes daffily, never cheaply—as ever.

The A.V. Club by Gwen Ihnat

The continued excellence of Schitt’s Creek makes it even more painful that this sweet, funny show will soon end. But the preparations for Patrick and David’s wedding and the renewed question of whether or not the Roses will stay put establish steady footing for the portions of season six that follow the episodes screened for critics.

TV Guide by Kelly Connolly

Schitt's Creek's final season might not be self-conscious, but it is self-aware; as the series prepares for one last goodbye, it's interested in how endings become new beginnings.

83

The A.V. Club by LaToya Ferguson

Daniel Levy has a confident comedic voice and a knack for biting dialogue, which can only mature along with the series, especially as we get to know the town and the character more. There is room for improvement--luckily, there will be a second season to work on that.

80

Los Angeles Times by Robert Lloyd

It's very funny, beautifully played, sometimes touching and, though its premise is familiar--rich family loses money--quite its own animal.

80

The New York Times by Margaret Lyons

Consistently pleasurable. ... That’s the show: funny and light and loopy, able to make a meal out of what seemed like a snack. The show’s fifth season, which starts Wednesday on Pop, finds it having perfected its formula. Big on love, big on reactions, big on outré black-and-white outfits.

75

San Francisco Chronicle by David Wiegand

This is pure comedy, with no hidden social agendas, no thinly disguised commentary on human behavior--nothing at all of much importance, except a whole lot of laughs.

75

Entertainment Weekly by Esther Zuckerman

The show has a familiar fish-out-of-water conceit.... But it's always a pleasure to see Levy and O'Hara play off each other. [13 Feb 2014, p.66]

New York Post by Robert Rorke

The Levys nicely develop their fish-out-of-water concept by showing how the family tries to fit in out of necessity.
