Set during his "Lost Years", Bill imagines William Shakespeare's rise to fame in London. A down-on-his-luck lute player, the young Shakespeare leaves his home in Stratford-Upon-Avon to follow his dream of becoming a playwright, despite the plague shutting down London's theaters. His journey becomes complicated when he finds himself entangled in an assassination plot.

There are a few chuckles to be found in Bill, but this is decidedly more "Robin Hood: Men in Tights" than "Monty Python and the Holy Grail."
