Two teenagers, both newcomers to London, forge an unlikely friendship over the course of a hot summer. Tomo, a runaway from Nottingham and Marek, who lives in the district of Somers Town where his father is working on a new rail link, band together in this strange new city.
Without ever trivializing his characters' meager circumstances or resorting to the rags-to-riches fantasy of "Slumdog Millionaire," Meadows has made a lovely film about the ability of the imagination to offset the harshness of reality.
