2040 is filmmaker Damon Gameau's vision of the future, where climate change is a problem of the past. Structured as a letter to his daughter, the film shows Gameau traveling the world and imagining what the future would look like if solutions to climate change were implemented at scale in the present.

What are critics saying?
2040 is a fantastic and informative documentary.
The New York Times by Ben Kenigsberg
Although the odds of implementing all these ideas might seem steep, “2040” is a rare climate documentary with an optimistic message.
Los Angeles Times by Kevin Crust
Powered by unbridled optimism, Gameau defies skeptics by doing his homework and bringing receipts.
In showing us the upside of turning a deaf ear to those with the money to amplify their self-interested voices of doubt, Gameau and 2040 give us the tiniest of hopes that maybe things will get better soon enough for us to escape the very worst.
