Johnny Lazar is a wise talking, New York stand-up comedian with a troubling past who high-tails it to London because his lack of respect for 'authority' has seen him in trouble with loan-sharks. Upon arrival he witnesses a gangland murder and is then hunted down by the perpetrators, which causes the nightmares from his past to resurface.
