What are critics saying?

80

Empire by David Parkinson

A powerful meditation on personal freedom from a Hungarian auteur.

70

Variety by Eddie Cockrell

A beautifully atmospheric vessel that will seem infinitely deep to some and chafingly dry to others.

60

The New York Times by Jeannette Catsoulis

Unfolding like a medieval horror movie, Delta is sometimes laughable but often admirable.

60

Time Out by David Fear

Taking a page--or rather, several chapters--from the Eastern European art-house playbook, Hungarian filmmaker Kornél Mundruczó works this stock tale into a deliberately paced parable of desire and dread.

50

The Hollywood Reporter

This academic, albeit beautifully shot, exercise will appeal mainly to those who like their Greek tragedy served with no frills or explanations and a bare minimum of dialogue.
