In a country beset by a brutal death squad led by Colonel Koulbou, Adoum, a journalist, intends to travel abroad to report on his country's situation. But when a compromising letter is found on him at the airport, Adoum is thrown in one of Koulbou's jails, where he finds unexpected help from Koulbou's estranged wife.
