The multi-episode film saga of the same title shows, on the example of the fate of several families from Wielkopolska, the struggle of Poles with the Germanization pressure in Poznań in the period from 1815 to 1918. The film, although it has fictional plot threads, is based on facts and presents the fate of authentic, historical characters.
