'Based on a True Story' is a documentary on John Wojtowicz and Salvatore Naturile's attempt to rob a bank in Flatbrush, NY in order to pay for Wojtowicz's lover's sex change. The story was later made into the award winning film 'Dog Day Afternoon,' starring Al Pacino.
