The Soil Under Your Feet(Talpalatnyi föld)

Góz Jóska and Juhos Marika, the main characters in the story that takes place in 1930, love each other. Marika, however, marries Zsiros Tóth Ferke because of her parents' debts. Jóska elopes with the girl during the wedding party. Jóska must make enough money to be able to marry Marika. Jóska, therefore, works as a navvy, then the two of them work from daybreak till nightfall on their tiny little piece of land, digging a well to be able to irrigate their plants.
