During the First World War, a father enlists in the French Army to serve alongside his 17-year-old son, who was forcibly conscripted. Immediately sent to the front, they face combat together in the trenches of colonial Senegal. The story highlights the heroic Senegalese infantrymen forced to leave their homeland and fight for France.
