Alan Bender is one of Mexico's top hostage negotiators. His wife, distressed by his dangerous job, has the couple attend marriage counseling. During one of their sessions, Alan gets a call that the president has been kidnapped, and leaves to the dismay of his wife. Everything changes when during the negotiations he sees that his wife has been kidnapped too.
