In this adaptation of eight of Geoffrey Chaucer's Canterbury Tales, stories of peasants, noblemen, clergy, and demons are imbued with eroticism and slapstick humor. Set in England in the Middle Ages, Pasolini's take on the famous medieval poem stays true to the original text, but sometimes diverges with episodes of the controversial filmmaker's own creation.
