In 1998, Tomoaki Hamatsu, or Nasubi, was swayed by a TV producer to take part in a challenge where he could win one million yen. For over a year, a naked Nasubi stayed in a room, filling out magazine sweepstakes to win food and clothing, unaware he was being broadcast to over fifteen million people.
