On an ordinary day, young Mabo Keïta is at home reading a schoolbook while his parents nap when an old man carrying a hammock shows up unexpectedly. The man is a griot, a musician whose songs include tribal histories and genealogies, carrying out a time-honored tradition passed down across generations.
