In rural 1930s Egypt, a group of peasant farmers fight their corrupt landowner for the right to irrigate their crops. Many are arrested for overwatering, while most simply want to feed their families. And although solidarity bands the farmers together at first, divisions between the oppressed quickly begin to come to the surface.
