The Broken Ground

Based on the privately published book “The Broken Ground” by Ned MacDonald, this 30-minute short documentary tells the origin story of the Inverness Coal Mines and surrounding community. From the discovery of coal to the entrance of the infamous coal developer, William Hussey, these are the anecdotes and memoirs that shaped western Cape Breton Island the past century and beyond.
