An ambitious developer of theaters plans to build an opera house in a village in the Peruvian Amazon. In order to finance his project, he embarks on an epic adventure to collect rubber, a very profitable product, in a remote region of the rainforest, which rests on successfully pulling a steamship over a mountain.
