Qinawi, a physically challenged peddler who makes his living selling newspapers in the central Cairo train station, is obsessed with an attractive young woman who sells drinks, despite her engagement to the respected porter Abu-Serih. As Abu-Serih attempts to unionize the station workers, Qinawi's fixation crosses the threshold from innocent crush to dangerous obsession.
