While escorting two children from Milan to an orphanage in Sicily, a young police officer named Antonio slowly befriends the siblings. Without a parental figure after their mother’s arrest, young Rosetta and her brother are bitter about their situation. But Antonio gradually wins them over, and a surprisingly moving connection forms between them.
