Made in 1963 for the NSPCC by the noted film director John Krish, They Took Us To The Sea follows a group of children taken by Inspectors of the NSPCC on an outing from Birmingham to Weston-Super Mare. The NSPCC organised therapeutic holidays like this for children from socially deprived backgrounds until the 1970s.
