The Story of Qiu Ju(秋菊打官司)

This comedy-drama follows Qiu Ju, a peasant woman who lives in rural China with her husband, Qinglai. When a village elder kicks Qinglai in the groin and refuses to apologize, Qiu Ju wants justice. Despite being in her third trimester of pregnancy, she travels throughout the region to appeal her case to higher and higher authorities.
