Scottish orphan David Balfour is betrayed by his uncle Ebeneezer who arranges for David to be sold into slavery so that he can claim his inheritance. David is rescued by Alan Breck, a Scottish rebel fighting for independence from the British. Together, David and Alan undergo several exhilarating adventures while fighting the British.
