Two Women(La ciociara)

Widowed shopkeeper Cesira is desperate to protect her 13-year-old daughter, Rosetta, from the Allied bombs in Rome during the second World War. In a bid for escape, they travel to the remote village where Cesira was born. There a sensitive young intellectual, Michele, falls in love with her.
