Driven mad by the pain of a maggot-infested wound in his thigh, a sadomasochistic metal fetishist (Shin'ya Tsukamoto) is struck by a salaryman's car as he darts wildly into the street. Instead of dying, however, the salaryman (Tomorowo Taguchi) endures a strange and gruesome transformation, one which turns his flesh into metal.

This film is not for the faint of heart. Thankfully, it's only 67 minutes long, not because it's bad, but because I don't know if I could stomach any more of it. The grotesquerie of machine and flesh and sex and violence is visceral in a way few films can match, but the body horror serves as a chilling commentary on urban decay and the dangers of technological progress and obsession.
