When her parents decide to arrange her marriage with a man in his fifties, 17-year-old Halimé refuses adamantly, but her parents ignore her and a wedding date is set without her consent. Nevertheless, she continues to argue with her father for her right to choose a husband, until the fight ultimately damages their relationship.
