Jérémie is facing failure on all fronts: his career as a filmmaker is floundering and his love life is tanking thanks to his chronic jealousy. In the face of this defeat, he retreats from Paris to Limosin to stay with his intrusive, overbearing, and loving mother while he struggles to find his way again.
The individual sequences, along with the confidence with which the two lead actors navigate the sometimes-turbulent currents, elevate the film into the realm of art. After all, sometimes it’s okay for the whole to be less than the sum of its parts.
